Image: Wikipedia CommonsI don't think I am crazy to think this way. When people want to portray conscience, they always pick that moment when it wakes us up. Look at the image above. It's called The Awakening Conscience but we don't see the conscience awakening, we see the woman waking to the moral wrongness of what she has been doing. It's as if her conscience has finally managed to wake her up. Having done its job, her conscience can go back to sleep. It's up to her now.
