Friday and womanly virtues

Friday is named in honour of frīgedæg. If you are fond of syncretism, she is more or less the equivalent of Venus. (Think of the French vendredi and the "Venus" is as obvious as the frīgedæg in Friday.)

Note: I usually scorn syncretism but it makes a lot of sense when applied to pagan superstitions such as frīgedæg or Venus.

Anyway, it strikes me that this makes Friday a good day to write about women and their virtues just as Thor's Day is a good day to write about men and theirs.

Not to mention that I'm usually winding down a little on Friday and lose enthusiasm for writing about a lot of other subjects. Women, on the other hand, I never get tired of.

Anyway, Sir Walter will be on Tuesday and the weekend from now on.
