Elinor Dashwood
I think Elinor is the greatest of Austen heroines. Before anyone jumps down my throat, that is different from saying that Sense and Sensibility is the greatest Austen book, it isn't. For me, Elinor towers above all others save Fanny Price (who comes close in greatness). If you want to be a good human being, there probably isn't a better role model in all fiction than Elinor Dashwood.
