Beauty (2)

The other parts of the Scruton series are below. The one that most closely applies to Austen is part four where Scruton talks about the Third Earl of Shaftesbury. Other people, most notably Gilbert Ryle, have see a strong connection between Austen and Shaftesbury.

I don't think there is something else about beauty that Austen sees, however, and I'll get to that in an upcoming post.
